Herrity Headlines

February 16, 2025

With each passing week of this campaign, I’m grateful for the many opportunities to speak with Republicans about the issues facing our Commonwealth and the issues facing their local communities. Below I also share my thoughts on one of my guiding principles – Transparency

This week took me to Orange County, where I had the pleasure of speaking with the passionate conservatives of the Lake of the Woods Republican Club.

Moving towards Richmond, I had the opportunity to visit with the Hanover County Republican Committee, where we talked about how important it is that we keep our statewide elected offices in Republican hands this year, to curb the progressive liberal agenda being pushed in Richmond.

The next day I had the opportunity to tour Louisa County with their Board of Supervisors Chairman, Duane Adams. It was a pleasure to meet so many community leaders, small business owners, and elected officials, and to see some of their facilities.

We wrapped up this week with the Grand Opening of our campaign headquarters in Fairfax County – where more than 150 fired up supporters joined us to see the space and hear about the campaign. A special thank you to Congressman Tom Davis for joining us, and to James Thomas for firing up the crowd!

At the office opening, we also talked about the ballot access process and our need to collect 10,000 signatures of registered voters in order to be listed on the ballot.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to get involved, we could use your help with collecting those signatures and ensuring my name is listed on the ballot on June 17th!

This week we rolled out several local endorsements, among them Culpeper Councilman Jon Russell and former Fairfax Clerk of the Court John Frey.

Councilman Jon Russell, who previously served as chairman of the Culpeper County Republican Committee, has been a fierce advocate for Republicans in Culpeper and his support will be hugely influential for my campaign in Culpeper County.

Former Clerk John Frey is beloved by the citizens of Fairfax. As the last Republican in Fairfax still in office, it means even more to have the support of such a popular and influential former Republican as John.

Guiding Principal Of Transparency

I wanted to take a moment in this week’s newsletter to highlight the importance of Transparency. One of my favorite things I heard people say about my Dad was that “You may not always agree with him, but you always knew where he stood.”  That’s a mentality that I’ve taken to heart over my years of public service.

Since first taking office, I’ve published a regular newsletter covering the important issues facing the residents of Fairfax County, and where I stand on those issues. It’s all laid out, regularly, for any interested party to see the issues and to see where I stand.

It’s called The Herrity Report, and you can access an archive of every issue I’ve ever put out by clicking here. Just as important as sharing how I feel on an issue is the feedback I get back from readers. I learn something every day and I want to hear every perspective – it gets us better answers.

As I have traveled the Commonwealth, I’ve had countless discussions with voters on a broad range of issues. On every issue, my guiding principle is to seek the commonsense, conservative solutions that benefit all Virginians.

That said, we will not always agree. That’s ok, and that’s healthy. Open honest discussion always gets you to better answers. I have had a lot of those discussions, and I have learned a lot from those discussions. What I will not do is compromise on my conservative principles.

As I engage in this campaign to represent the residents of the Commonwealth as your next Lieutenant Governor, it’s important to me that you understand the emphasis I put on transparency. I believe that you, the voters and residents of Virginia, have a right to know what’s going on in our government, a way to provide input on those issues and a right to know where I stand on the issues.

As your Lieutenant Governor, transparency is a guiding principle that will continue to be at the forefront of how I serve.
